Radio Trailer Research
After listening to a variety of different radio trailers, I've noticed several conventions. Radio trailers can differ a lot depending on whether they're advertising a product, a film, a place, a radio show etc but similar conventions to appear. There is always some kind of voice describing whatever is being advertised, which usually explains why their product is the right product for the audience. When looking at radio trailers for films, clips from the film were a popular convention. Often, humour or horror is added in to make the trailer memorable. Radio trailers generally last from 30 seconds to 1 minute. A common theme in most radio trailers is to have some kind of background music to add some excitement into the trailer.
